Maya started to become interested in knitting as a child when she saw her mother creating clothes from scratch using yarn. She went on to become serious about what started as a childhood hobby and pursued her craft by completing a MA in Knitwear at the RCA.

Since then she has spent her time dedicated to working in the field of knitwear across the Globe working in New York, Milan, London and Paris and in HK and China.

Throughout those years she was very fortunate to end up working for top level brands including McQueen / Chanel / Calvin Klein Collection/ Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren and Vince.

In 2015 she launched CROFT COLLECTIVE.  A creative and technical design service dedicated to helping her clients achieve their product vision and business needs.  Her past collaborations have included - Theory , Oscar de la Renta , Zimmermann and Christopher Fischer Cashmere and Lafayette 148 . Current clients are High Sport, Banjanan and Soor Ploom. Since the business was opened in 2015 till now - the business has expanded and now offers full front to back services from sourcing and design and development through to production. CROFT currently provides agent services for premium manufacturers in Italy and Peru/Scotland and UK as well as China.

CROFT was opened and conceived in response to what Maya felt was a strong need for fashion to become less spoken again and more practiced. We need to understand our product better and be more focused in our methodology.

“By standing on the outside and collaborating from within I have a clear perspective on the needs of your business and how to grow it ”
